CGC Jhanjeri Students Win Laurels

CGC Jhanjeri Students Win Laurels Bags First & Second Positions in E-Summit of IIT Roorkee

The students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri (CGC) won laurels during E-Summit 2019 organised by IIT Roorkee during first week of February 2019. More than 25 teams from various Universities & Colleges of India participated in this prestigious event. The students of CGC took part in the event “Trash to Cash – Logathon”. The model prepared by them from waste material was declared first prize winner winning trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 15000/-.The CGC team took part in another Business Management event “Split for Success” and won second position with a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. The teams comprising of Diksha, Akanksha, Sued Junaid, RehanaBatul, Ubaid Shah and Jowan Jindal, NehaBaniyat, Raman Gupta, MehvishShafi and Bazila worked under the guidance of Prof. Syed Mohd. Arif&Dr.RishavGarg Head, Civil Engineering Department.

Speaking on the occasion, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC congratulated the staff & students for this marvellous achievement. He declared that all expenses on fabrication of these projects will be borne by the management. The students & staff having gone to IIT Roorkee for taking part in this competition will be reimbursed all the travelling, boarding & lodging expenses. Dr.G.D.Bansal, Director General CGC said that the students of CGC take active interest in preparing projects making use of their innovative ideas. For some of these projects, the college has already filed application for their parents. The Civil Engineering students of CGC Jhanjeri have designed a unique flyover for Landran crossing with which the traffic density can be reduced to about 10%. This design has highly been appreciated by a large number of persons.
