CGC, Jhanjeri Hosts An Illuminating Guest Lecture on Forensic Science

The Department of Forensic Science at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, recently organized an insightful guest lecture titled "Dive into the Forensic Horizons: Familiarizing the Freshmen with the Field Innovation." The distinguished session was led by Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer and Cyber Forensic Associate at UT Administration, Chandigarh.

The guest lecture aimed to:

* Sensitize freshmen about the expansive field of forensic science.

* Provide valuable insights into the emerging domain of cyber forensics.

* Raise awareness about cybercrime and effective prevention strategies.

Dr. Chand captivated the audience with an exploration of forensic science's diverse landscape, focusing on the rapidly growing field of cyber forensics. He discussed the pervasive issue of cybercrime in our increasingly digital world and outlined strategies for its prevention. Dr. Chand also highlighted key programs and organizations dedicated to combating cyber threats, including the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (ICCCC), the National Crime Report Portal (NCRP), the Vani-CyberDost ChatBot, the Cyber Forensic Capabilities & Forensic Research Management System (CFCFRMS), the National Crime Threat Analysis Unit (NCTAU), and the National Cyber Forensic Lab.

The session concluded with an engaging open house segment, allowing students to interact directly with Dr. Chand, seek clarifications, and gain deeper insights into forensic science.
