Fortifying IPR: Workshop on Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy at CGC Mohali (Jhanjeri)
In its continued commitment to fostering innovation and safeguarding intellectual property, Chandigarh Law College, CGC Mohali (Jhanjeri), in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, Chandigarh, and the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management, DPIIT, Government of India, successfully organized a workshop titled "Fortifying IPR: Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy," which was supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The event served as a crucial platform for thought leaders, legal experts, and industry professionals to delve into the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and the strategic measures necessary to combat counterfeiting and piracy.

The keynote address by Dr. Kashmir Singh, Co-ordinator, Policy Research Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, titled "Counterfeiting & Piracy Unveiled: A Deep Dive into Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)," provided an analytical perspective on the global impact of counterfeit goods and piracy. He emphasized the critical role of stringent enforcement mechanisms and discussed the legal frameworks that empower organizations to safeguard their intellectual assets.
An expert session by Mr. Govind Preet Singh, Advocate, Punjab & Haryana High Court, on "Enforcing IPR: Landmark Cases, Legal Strategies, and Practical Approaches to Combat Counterfeiting," offered practical insights into legal strategies for counterfeiting and piracy prevention. His detailed analysis of landmark legal cases underscored the importance of proactive legal enforcement in protecting intellectual property.
