HR Innovators at CGC Jhanjeri, Mohali Empower Students with Resume Building Skills
Chandigarh Engineering College’s Department of Management, in collaboration with the HR Innovators & Leadership Club, successfully conducted an insightful Resume Building Workshop titled “Crafting Impactful Resumes Aligned with Career Goals”. The session aimed to equip MBA 2nd semester students with essential skills to create professional resumes tailored to their career aspirations. The event featured Ms. Suchita Singh, Corporate Communication Manager at Cheema Boilers, as the resource person. With her extensive corporate expertise, Ms. Singh provided valuable insights into resume optimization and industry expectations.
The workshop covered various aspects of crafting impactful resumes, including understanding the purpose and structure of resumes, organizing key sections such as professional summaries, skills, and work experience, and tailoring resumes to align with specific career goals. Ms. Singh introduced students to the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) methodology to effectively highlight achievements and shared techniques for creating ATS-friendly designs to enhance recruiter visibility. Participants also engaged in a peer review session, which encouraged collaborative learning and provided constructive feedback.
The event successfully achieved its objectives by providing students with practical tools to craft resumes that reflect their skills and qualifications while meeting industry standards. It also fostered an understanding of ethical and professional resume-building practices, equipping students to navigate the competitive job market confidently. The collaboration with the HR Innovators & Leadership Club laid the foundation for future initiatives, such as workshops on interview skills, personal branding, and alumni interaction sessions, ensuring continuous career development opportunities.
