On 2.oct.23, the Department of Student Welfare at CGC-Jhajeri, NSS Wing, collaborated with a Blind Deaf NGO to organize a Diwali donation drive. The event aimed to spread joy and support to the visually and hearing-impaired community during the festive season. Students and faculty generously contributed essential items such as clothes, toiletries, and non-perishable food items. The donations were collected and distributed to the NGO, ensuring they reached those in need. Participants also engaged in interactive sessions to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with visual and hearing impairments, promoting empathy and understanding among the student body. The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude from the NGO representatives and a sense of fulfillment among the participants, highlighting the NSS Wing's commitment to serving the community and fostering inclusivity.
On November 10, 2023, the Department of Student Welfare at Chandigarh Group of Colleges orchestrated a heart-warming Diwali donation drive for the benefit of the local NGO, Prabh Aasra, dedicated to the care and treatment of mentally disturbed individuals. The event witnessed a compassionate outpouring of support from both staff and students, with the invaluable assistance of National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers. The spirit of giving was encapsulated in the donation of essential groceries, symbolizing the collective effort to bring joy and relief to those in need. This initiative not only demonstrated the college community's commitment to social responsibility but also underscored the power of collective goodwill in fostering a more compassionate and inclusive society.
On January 12, 2024, CGC Jhanjeri radiated with the festive glow of Lohri, a celebration that not only marked the end of winter but also embodied the spirit of giving and community. Amidst the lively beats of traditional Punjabi music that filled the air, the campus witnessed an outpouring of generosity towards the less fortunate.As part of the tradition of Lohri, students, faculty, and staff came together to share their blessings with those in need. Gift packages filled with essentials such as warm clothing, blankets, and food items were distributed to the poor and underprivileged individuals in the surrounding communities. The act of giving was not just a gesture of charity but a symbol of solidarity and compassion, reflecting the ethos of Lohri.
The recipients of these gifts were greeted with smiles and gratitude, their spirits lifted by the kindness and generosity of the CGC Jhanjeri community. In the exchange of gifts, bonds were forged, bridging divides and strengthening the sense of unity among all who participated.
On the evening of April 6th, 2024, CGC Jhanjeri hosted a vibrant Iftaar party, welcoming numerous students to partake in the festivities. As dusk settled, the campus came alive with an atmosphere of unity and celebration. The gathering served as a testament to the diverse and inclusive nature of the institution, bringing together individuals from various backgrounds to commemorate the breaking of the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
It was a moment of shared joy and gratitude, as students came together to appreciate the blessings of friendship and fellowship.Overall, the Iftaar party at CGC Jhanjeri on April 6th, 2024, was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. It served as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity and solidarity, transcending cultural and religious boundaries to bring people together in celebration and harmony.
On April 16, 2024, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Jhanjeri celebrated Kanjak Puja with great fervor and enthusiasm. The event witnessed the participation of over 100 young girls, embodying the essence of this traditional Hindu ritual which honors and celebrates girl children as manifestations of the divine feminine.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional washing of the girls' feet, symbolizing purity and respect, followed by aarti and the application of tilak. The atmosphere was vibrant with devotional songs and chants, enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the occasion. The presence of Mr. Arsh Dhaiwal, Managing Director, and Ms. Bismin Dhaliwal, Director of Student Affairs, added a significant touch to the event, as they personally distributed gifts to each of the young participants.
The gifts given to the girls included educational materials, sweets, and other tokens of appreciation, symbolizing the college's dedication to the well-being and development of its students. The event concluded with a collective meal (prasad) shared by all attendees, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
The NSS wing, under the auspices of the Dean of Students' Welfare (DSW) at Chandigarh Group of Colleges-Jhanjeri, celebrated Mother's Day with great fervor and compassion at the Kartar Aasra NGO. The NSS students extended their heartfelt gestures by presenting gifts of suits and fruits to the elder ladies residing at the NGO. The event was marked by meaningful conversations and shared learning experiences between the NSS students and the elderly women. On this 11th of May, 2024, the event not only honored the spirit of Mother's Day but also embodied the essence of compassion and respect towards the elderly in our society.
On June 18, 2024, on the occasion of Ekadashi, CGC Jhanjeri organized a Chabeel Sewa to provide cool and refreshing drinks to the campus community and visitors. This event aimed to promote the spirit of service and compassion, offering relief from the summer heat. Students and staff members enthusiastically participated in the preparation and distribution of sweetened, chilled beverages to everyone passing by. The Chabeel Sewa was met with heartfelt appreciation, as it not only quenched thirst but also fostered a sense of unity and generosity. This initiative highlights CGC Jhanjeri's dedication to nurturing values of kindness and community service among its members.
