CGC JHANJERI CELEBRATES LIBRARY WEEK: A JOURNEY OF KNOWLEDGE AND CREATIVITY

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, recently hosted a dynamic celebration of Library Week, coinciding with National Book Lovers Day and National Librarians Day. Held in the central library, the event reflected the college’s commitment to fostering a deep appreciation for literature, creativity, and intellectual exploration.

The week began with a heartfelt Book Donation Drive, where students and staff came together to enrich the library’s collection. This initiative highlighted the generosity and collective spirit of the CGC Jhanjeri community while emphasizing the importance of knowledge sharing. The donated books, now part of the library's extensive resources, embody the institution’s dedication to nurturing a culture of continuous learning.

Creative competitions followed, turning the library into a vibrant hub of artistic expression. Students eagerly participated in bookmark and poster-making activities, where their creations celebrated the enduring role of libraries as gateways to knowledge and cultural preservation. Themes like 'Libraries: Gateway to Knowledge Across Time' and 'Sustainable Libraries' inspired students to showcase their creativity, underscoring the library's significance in both education and sustainability.

The week culminated in a spirited debate competition, where participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the evolving role of libraries in the digital age. These debates centered around contemporary topics, ignited insightful discourse and highlighted the intellectual depth of the students.

The celebration of Library Week at CGC Jhanjeri was aligned with the management's vision of creating a vibrant intellectual community that values the power of knowledge and creativity. The series of events not only honoured the significance of libraries but also provided an enriching platform for students to explore, express, and connect with the boundless world of learning in meaningful ways.
