International conference on BIOTECH VITALIS: Transforming HEALTH & DRUG DISCOVERY

BioTech Vitalis 2025, an international conference focused on biotechnology, healthcare, and drug discovery, was successfully hosted at CGC Mohali (Jhanjeri). Bringing together renowned scientists, researchers, industry experts, and academic leaders, the conference served as a melting pot of ideas, innovation, and collaboration in the fields of biomedical research, molecular diagnostics, personalized medicine, and biotechnology-driven healthcare solutions.

The three-day event witnessed a series of insightful keynote addresses, technical sessions, panel discussions, and research presentations, offering participants a platform to explore cutting-edge advancements and breakthrough discoveries. The presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Padma Shri Awardee Prof. (Dr.) R.N.K. Bamezai, cancer biologist and geneticist from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Sandhir, renowned neuro biochemist from Panjab University, added immense value to the discourse on genomic research, disease diagnostics, and biotechnological interventions in healthcare.

The conference commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a keynote address by Prof. (Dr.) Bamezai, who provided deep insights into precision medicine and genetic disease management, setting the stage for dynamic discussions ahead. This was followed by Prof. (Dr.) Rajat Sandhir’s session on molecular diagnostics, highlighting its role in early disease detection and personalized treatment approaches.

Subsequent sessions explored groundbreaking topics such as cardiovascular and renal biology, obesity prevention, digital healthcare, and the role of artificial intelligence in drug discovery. Dr. Harmandeep Kaur from St. Michael’s Hospital, Canada, Dr. Mahendra Bishnoi from BRIC-NABI, and Ms. Madhu Bhatia, project manager, e-Sanjeevani, CDAC, mohali, among others, delivered thought-provoking sessions on the latest advancements shaping modern healthcare.

Day 2 was dedicated to emerging innovations in biotechnology, with leading experts shedding light on nano-biotechnology, interventional radiology, and biofortification in agriculture. Dr. Jayeeta Bhaumik, Dr. Nitin Kumar Singhal, Dr. Natalia Repkina, Dr. Ruby Sharma, and Dr. Rajeev Bahuguna presented pioneering research on targeted drug delivery, sustainable food security, and molecular biology advancements.

The final day featured futuristic discussions on oncology research, vaccine development, and biotechnology-driven clinical advancements. Dr. Sander B. Frank from Fred Hutch Cancer Center, USA, and Dr. Saurabh Verma, a translational oncology scientist, led captivating sessions on cancer research breakthroughs and androgen receptor regulation in prostate cancer. A panel discussion titled "Synergizing Science: Bridging Industry, Healthcare, Biotech, and Academia" further emphasized the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing research and real-world applications.

One of the key highlights of the conference was the Poster and Oral Presentation session, where young researchers showcased innovative projects in biotechnology and healthcare. These presentations were meticulously evaluated by Dr. Saurabh Verma, providing students with constructive feedback and industry-relevant insights.

Adding a cultural touch, the conference concluded with a vibrant cultural program featuring traditional dance performances from across India, celebrating the spirit of diversity and unity.
