CGC Jhanjeri Celebrates Cultural and Sports Victories 2024 with Grandeur CGC Jhanjeri came alive with vibrant colours, rhythmic beats, and exuberant celebrations as it honoured its students’ stellar achievements across cultural and sports events. In a festive atmosphere filled with music, dance, and enthusiasm, the institute paid tribute to the young talents who brought laurels through their unwavering commitment to excellence. At the IKGPTU Youth Fest 2024, the cultural teams of CGC Jhanjeri showcased remarkable performances, sweeping awards across categories. The iconic traditional Punjabi dance forms, Giddha and Bhangra, claimed the 1st position, securing the coveted Gold Medal, a testament to the rich cultural heritage CGC Jhanjeri promotes. In the field of theatre, the college’s Mime team earned the Gold Medal for their exceptional portrayal, while the One Act Play and Skit teams earned the Silver Medal for their performances. Additionally, the skillful performances in Mimicry brought home another Silver Medal. The fine arts department too shone brightly, with the Collage artists securing a Gold Medal, and talented students in Painting and Clay Modelling earning Silver Medals for their creativity and finesse. Adding to these triumphs, CGC Jhanjeri’s western dance team, The Maulers, claimed the 1st position at the prestigious Thomso at IIT Roorkee, while the musical talent of the Banjara Band secured a 2nd position at IIT Roorkee’s Thomso festival. In sports, the celebrations were just as momentous. The boys’ Kabaddi team, having won the IKGPTU Gold Medal, continued to uphold the college’s sporting legacy. The Football team emerged victorious, while in the Sumrai Asian Championship, CGC Jhanjeri’s athletes bagged a Silver Medal. Furthermore, the prowess in Chess secured a winning streak, and in Powerlifting, the college’s strength was on full display with another impressive victory. The achievements were rounded off with a Silver Medal in National Kickboxing, showcasing the college’s diverse sporting talent. The grand celebration today honoured these outstanding winners, bringing the CGC Jhanjeri campus to life with lively performances, music, and dance, underlining the institution’s commitment to holistic development.
