CGC Jhanjeri's BBA Students Gain Real-World Insights During Industrial Visit to Nahar Industrial Enterprises Ltd.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, continues to offer its students practical learning opportunities that complement academic theory with real-world exposure. In line with this commitment, the Department of Business Administration organized an educational industrial visit for BBA first-semester students to Nahar Industrial Enterprises Limited (NIEL), Ludhiana. As one of India’s leading textile conglomerates, NIEL specializes in yarn, fabric, and garment manufacturing, making it an ideal destination for students eager to observe large-scale industrial operations firsthand.

The visit provided a rich learning experience, aiming to familiarize students with key aspects of the textile and garment industry, including supply chain management, production processes, and modern sustainability practices. From witnessing the transformation of raw cotton into finished garments to understanding the intricacies of industrial logistics, the students received invaluable insights that bridged the gap between classroom learning and industrial applications.

A comprehensive presentation by senior managers gave an overview of the company’s diversified operations, spanning yarn spinning, fabric manufacturing, and garment production. Additionally, the students learned about NIEL’s significant corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and its dedication to green manufacturing and energy conservation.

The visit’s highlight was a guided tour of the sprawling manufacturing plant, where students were able to witness the entire production process across different stages, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and garment manufacturing. The students had the unique opportunity to interact with department heads, who shared valuable insights into the challenges of managing large-scale operations, supply chain logistics, and maintaining quality control in a competitive industry. The interactive session concluded with an engaging Q&A round, where students explored topics such as operational efficiency, global market trends, and the role of automation in modern manufacturing.

The students left the visit with a deeper understanding of how theoretical principles in management, production, and logistics are applied in practice. They also gained a new appreciation for the importance of sustainability and corporate responsibility in today’s business landscape. This enriching experience not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also prepared them for the dynamic challenges of the corporate world.

The industrial visit to Nahar Industrial Enterprises Limited was a resounding success, reaffirming CGC Jhanjeri’s commitment to providing its students with holistic education that equips them with both theoretical acumen and practical skills.
